Los Angeles Dodgers vs. St. Louis Cardinals: Cardinals won the regular season series 5-2.

Game one will take place in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 9:37 p.m. on TBS. The Cardinals will look to ride their two stud pitchers over the Dodgers, who need to hold their home field advantage.

Randy Wolf (11-7, 3.23 ERA) gets the nod to start game one for the Dodgers against the man who maybe the NL CY Young favorite, Chris Carpenter (17-4, 2.24 ERA).

Game two on Thursday, will feature a matchup between Clayton Kershaw (8-8, 2.79 ERA) of the Dodgers and Adam Wainwright (19-8, 2.63 ERA), another CY Young candidate of the Cardinals.

When the series shifts to St Louis, they will throw Joel Pineiro (15-12, 3.49 ERA) and Los Angeles will toss their late season pickup in Vicente Padilla (12-6, 4.46 ERA).

If necessary, in game four, the Dodgers would send Chad Billingsley (12-11, 4.03 ERA) to the bump. The Cardinals have not decided on a game four starter yet.

Ryan Franklin is the Cardinals closer and he was tied for third in the NL in saves with 38 during the regular season. Franklin only blew five saves during the year and had a 1.92 ERA.

Jonathan Broxton had 36 saves in 42 chances for Los Angeles and sported a 2.61 ERA.

Albert Pujols, who led the majors with 47 home runs, will anchor the St. Louis offense. He was also third in the NL in average (.327) and RBI’s (135). Also figuring heavily into the Cardinals offense will be Matt Holliday, Skip Shumaker, Yadier Molina, Ryan Ludwick, and Colby Rasmus.

The always dangerous Manny Ramirez will lead the Dodgers offensive attack. Los Angeles will also lean on Andre Ethier, Matt Kemp, Orlando Hudson, James Loney, Casey Blake, Rafael Furcal and Russell Martin to provide runs.

My Prediction: Cardinals in 4. Starting pitching too strong and Cardinals steal the first two games in L.A. setting them up to win the series at home.
