First of all I would like to pay my respects to all the legends who have died within the past three weeks. The Tribute: Michael Jackson, Steve McNair, Billy Mays, and Farrah Fawcett. All four of these people had a crucial impact in the world. Seems like everyone is dying these days... but there is one guy who is still standing and "LIVING" strong -- Lance Armstrong. TOUR DE FRANCE: Roughly one year ago we thought Lance was completely through with competitive cycling. Now he and his team (Astana) is leading the Tour De France after Stage 4. For a guy to go through what he did (nonseminomatous testicular cancer), I now officially classify him as a Hero... PERIOD. Not an "American Hero," a HERO! It has never been proven that he was a "juicer," and until proven guilty, Lance is an amazing sports figure "everyone" can look up to. CHICAGO: Remember when Mark Cuban was going to buy the Chicago Cubs and said he just would not have the leverage. That is because Cuban is an intelligent businessman who knows what is best for himself, the fans, business, and baseball. Well the Cubs found a buyer... Joe Ricketts (the guy who owns/found TD Ameritrade) for $900 million. Every Cub fan should just start balling there eyes out in a tissue right now. Ricketts just massively over spent for a franchise where the numbers do not add up. Now your local meatball radio or television host may say "Oh it's a great day to be a Cub fan." Well... it's not. The $900 million dollar tag means less free agents and jacked up ticket prices. Folks, the Cubs were valued at $440 million in 2007 ... they doubled in two years (unless your Johnny Knoxville in "The Ringer") you have to understand how bad of a business mistake this was and will be in the future. In this economy, your not going to make your money back. This guy has major bank notes. It's a 35,000 seat stadium and it's old. Your not going to make that money up unless you jack the ticket prices up to "Yankee Stadium status." By the way this guy (Ricketts) was pinching for every last dime to pay for this ... he was selling his 401K and going to his marble set to get enough money to buy the Cubs. That being said -- CELEBRATE St. Louis because "your" Cardinals will outbid the Cubs in free agency for a long time to come ...
