Final Score: Bucks 91, Hawks 87 No Bogut, no problem. The Milwaukee Bucks are somehow finding a way to win playoff games against the favored Hawks, despite playing without their best player. On Wednesday night, the 6-seed Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Atlanta Hawks on their home floor where they had not lost in over 2 months. The Bucks now have a 3-2 series lead and have a chance to close out the series in Game 6 in Milwaukee. The Bucks were led by rookie guard Brandon Jennings again, who had 25 points in 43 minutes. The explosive guard has used his quickness to attack the hoop against the more physical Hawks defenders. John Salmons added 19 points for the Bucks, and backup point guard Luke Ridnour contributed a big 15 points off the bench. Jennings and Milwaukee have been talking about their ability to pay completely free and loose, as the Hawks are the huge favorites. Nobody expected the Bucks to have a chance in this series, and they continue to come with an unmatched effort on the court. The Hawks should have been showing more of a sense of urgency at home in Game 5 with the series on the line. A loss tonight means than Atlanta must defeat the Bucks in Milwaukee on Friday night. The Hawks are 1-9 in their last 10 road playoff games. Atlanta got 25 points and 11 rebounds from Al Horford, who has dominated inside without the presence of Andrew Bogut. Marvin Williams added 22 for Atlanta, while Joe Johnson had a modest 13. Josh Smith had just 7 points. Jamal Crawford, who just won the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award, finished with 11 points on 4 of 18 shooting. Crawford's awful shooting night limited his effectiveness as a spark off the bench. Brandon Jennings continues to improve his game and gain invaluable experience as a rookie in the postseason. With just 1 more performance like tonight, he may be heading for another round in the playoffs. "The main thing was just keep attacking, keeping attacking," Jennings said. "The pressure's not on us." The pressure is now solely on Atlanta. The heavily favored Hawks must regroup and find a way to take down the Bucks on their home floor. If they can find a way to get it done, they'll have the home court advantage for Game 7. Milwaukee does not want to lose this next game and have to head back to Atlanta. Game 6 is on Friday night. Be ready for an exciting game that both teams are desperate to win. |
