The Detroit Red Wings pay a visit to Calgary, Alberta for a hockey game with playoff implications-winner maintains a spot as the eighth and final seed, with the loser placed in the ninth spot. The Red Wings are coming off a two game winning streak and a 6-2-2 record over their last ten games, but one of those losses comes from the Calgary Flames, who seem to have a number on the Wings.

For Detroit, their middle lines with Helm, Williams, and Cleary need to play a solid game defensively and with a great fore-check, the top line with Datsyuk, Franzen, and Holmstrom must continue dominating play, and the defense outside of Lidstrom and Rafalski need to play on their toes against a streaky Flames team, especially captain Jermone Iginla.

The Flames need to keep doing what they have been against the Wings, and that is scoring. With Howard as the weak link of this Detroit team, Calgary needs to keep shooting the puck and pounding on rebounds. In their last meeting, this is exactly what helped give the Flames a W.
