RALEIGH, N.C. -- The feisty Pittsburgh Penguins will look to take out the dust pans tonight in North Carolina when they push for the clean sweep versus the diluted Carolina Hurricanes. The Pens have outscored Carolina 16-8 in the series partly due to the lack of scoring from Eric Staal, who has not scored in three weeks (May 8). As a franchise player, Staal will need to deliver quickly or the Pens are going to land that (expensive 59.95 paper view) knockout punch.

Up 3-0 in the best-of-seven series, the Pittsburgh's stars Sidney Crosby Evgeni Malkin have combined for 14 points including eight out of the 16 goals the Pens have scored throughout the series.

No team has ever won the Stanley Cup after losing in the finals the previous year since the 1984 Edmonton Oilers. It is likely to be a rematch of last year's Cup Finals if the Detroit Red Wings complete the series tomorrow night in Olympia Stadium.

Pittsburgh coach Dan Bylsma told the AP yesterday, "We certainly know the situation we're in." He went on to say, "We haven't won four games. This is a race to four, and we still have more work to do to get there. ... I understand they've been to the finals last year and didn't get the result they wanted. No, we're not there yet. We still have work to do." (ESPN.com). Coach Bylsma said it perfect. As cliché as it sounds, you have to close out a series and not let up just because your team has four opportunities to beat a team once.

The Pens will go for a Stanley Cup berth tonight in Carolina and the puck will drop at 7:30 p.m. ET on the VERSUS network.
