LOS ANGELES, C.A. -- "They're not a true eight seed." That's what Kobe Byrant told TNT's Craig Sager after the Lakers took game two at home in the Staples Center 119-109. L.A. is up 2-0 in the series and will travel to Salt Lake now for games three and four starting Thursday night. Utah were led by their dynamic duo in Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer. Williams had another terrific night of basketball leading all scorers with 35 points and adding nine assist to the stat sheet. Meanwhile, Boozer looked to be back in mid-season from with his 20 point 10 rebound game on 8-18 shooting from the field. The Lakers were led by their superstar Kobe Bryant, who dropped another quiet 26 points in L.A.'s 119-109 win. Trevopr Ariza had another 20 point game scoring 21 points. L.A. hit 11 consecutive shots at one point in the second quarter that put them up by 22 points. Utah made a late run in the fourth quarter, but Phil Jackson's Laker team was solid from the charity strike hitting 26-32, 82 percent. Paul Milsap said after the game, "We can’t give up 65 points like we did in the first half and expect to win a game on the road. If we can get that down pat and play solid defense the first two quarters and the last two quarters we’ll be all right.” Game three will take place in Salt Lake City, Utah Thursday night. Tipoff is set for 10:30 p.m. ET. |
