Los Angeles, C.A. - - The Los Angeles Dodgers (6-3) will send Eric Stultz to the mound as the San Feancisco Giants (2-6) will look to avoid the sweep. The Dodgers (6-3) will have to face the relentless Barry Zito, who has had tremendous success versus L.A. in the past. Zito (0-1) is 3-1 in four career appearances at Dodgers Stadium with a 2.73 ERA. Joe Torre's L.A. team, who is on a four-game winning streak, has outscored their opponents 30-7 in the flawless 36 innings of play. If the Dodgers keep getting the pitching, they are going to be a success without putting the ball in play. L.A.'s Chad Bisingley, who struck out 11 in Monday's home opener, and Clayton Kershaw's 13 strike outs on Wednesday marked the first time since Sep 23-24, 2000 that a Dodger pitchers pitched consecutive 10 plus strikeout nights. Eric Stultz (1-0, 1.69) will give it a go tonight as he tries to win the Dodgers fifth straight game. Meanwhile, Barry Zito will try to lift the Giants to a win. The Giants are yet to get their first road win of the season. First pitch will be ... RIGHT NOW! (Just got the article done in time). |
