Los Angeles, C.A. - - On a night dedicated to Jackie Robinson, Clayton Kershaw stole the stage by striking out 13 San Francisco Giants. Kershaw (0-0, 1.50) had people saying, "Is this sensational kid as good as former Dodger and Hall of Famer, Sandy Koufax?" "Pretty good company there," said Kershaw to MLB.com's Ken Gurnick. The pitching duel between Kershaw and Giants ace Matt Cain, was merely an afterthought after James Loney drew his second walk of the game in the bottom of the 9th inning to win it for the Dodgers 5-4. Though we are all still waiting for Manny Ramirez to hit his first home run, the Dodgers have had good hitting from others throughout the lineup. Guys such as Orlando Hudson, who hit for the cycle on Monday afternoon against the game one against the Giants, has hitting .368 with a slugging percentage of .684. Also, Hudson has hit two home runs and knocked five runs in so far this season. The Dodgers (6-3) will play the Giants (2-6) in the last game of the short, three-game series tonight in L.A. Barry Zito will be on the mound for San Fran as Eric Stults will get his second start of the early baseball season for the Dodgers. |
