There are a lot of expectations for the Detroit Lions this season. Matthew Stafford is headed into his sophomore season, and is expected to put up big numbers. With the addition of WR Nate Burleson, it should help take some defensive pressure off of Calvin Johnson, a.k.a Megatron.

Not to mention the high hopes of rookie standouts Jahvid Best and "The House of Spears" Ndamukong Suh. The drafting of those two brought out a lot of excitement for the 2010 season.

We're all aware of the debacle the 2008 season brought Lions fans. 2009 wasn't any better. "Technically" they did show improvement. So I'm asking Lions fans the big question. How many wins will it take for you to be satisfied? What number will have you say, "I'm glad they were able to win (insert number here) games.

If you ask me, I say it'll take at least 6 wins to give the boys in Honolulu Blue some credit. The only thing that scares me is the backfield. I'm not thrilled with the DBs or the safety.

So am I out of line saying 6 wins is too many? Or are you expecting something bigger and better?

I'm not a Lions fan, but if I was then I would definitely be a little more optimistic this season....

With Stafford, Calvin, and Jahvid Best, there's a great young offensive trio right there. They should provide excitement all season long.....

Ndamukong Suh and Kyle Vanden-Bosch bring immediate help to the D-Line so that should be improved. But still, this team finished dead last in defense last season and the O-Line is weak as well. And like you mentioned, the D-Backs are very suspect...

I wouldn't expect more than 5 or 6 wins, but Detroit should be competitive and could scare a few unsuspecting teams with some big offensive games. Hopefully, they can develop some solid players on the o-line and defensive back 7, as well.

I'd say you're right on that 6 wins would be a good number to shoot for.
