Do you think HBO would like to reconsider going to Cortland, New York to film the New York Jets training camp and instead return to Georgetown, Kentucky for Bengals training camp?
The Bengals edition of HBO’s “Hard Knocks” was the highest rated season yet and I have to think that the addition of Terrell Owens wouldn’t have caused a ratings drop.

That is right; T.O. is the newest member of the Cincinnati Bengals. It is being reported that Owens agreed to a one year, $2 million deal. Owens can also make another $2 million in incentives as part of the deal a source said.

It should be noted that while Owens and the Bengals have agreed to the deal, Owens hasn’t signed the contract yet. He is expected to do that when he arrives at Georgetown, Kentucky for Bengals training camp within the next day or so.

It didn’t take long for Chad Ochocinco to make his excitement over the signing of Owens known.

On Chad’s Twitter he wrote “"all of our games have been moved to pay-per-view, you got to pay to see this."

T.O. will join a Bengals wide receiving core that includes Ochocinco, Antonio Bryant, rookie Jordan Shipley and first round pick tight end Jermaine Gresham.
The acquisitions of Terrell Owens and Antonio Bryant means that in all likelihood Ochocinco will not have to worry about the constant double teams he had to deal with last season. If running back Cedric Benson can continue the dominant performance that was 1,251 yards and six touchdowns he scored last year into 2010 then the offense could really be something scary. No final decision has been made by the league yet as to whether Benson will be suspended over an altercation he got into at a bar in Austin, Texas earlier this month.

The St. Louis Rams also showed strong interest in Owens, but ultimately opted against signing T.O. In this particular situation, Cincinnati is a better destination for Owens than St. Louis would have been. Terrell Owens has expressed his desire to play on a team that is a contender to make a deep run in the playoffs or even make a Superbowl appearance. The Rams went 2-14 this season and will be playing with a rookie quarterback in Sam Bradford. Also, Owens would most likely have been the featured wide receiver in a group that includes Donnie Avery, Laurent Robinson, and rookie Mardy Gilyard. Cincinnati meanwhile is coming off an AFC-North division championship season and has an offense that features a two time Pro Bowl selection in quarterback Carson Palmer and a stout receiving core that includes Owens’ buddy Chad Ochocinco.

The addition of Terrell Owens makes a Cincinnati Bengals team that already looked pretty strong even stronger. As I mentioned before, the offense should be dynamic. The Bengals have an abundance of talent at the skill positions. Jermaine Gresham’s ability to contribute as a rookie for the Bengals will be something to watch. Gresham missed all of his senior season for Oklahoma after tearing knee cartilage in the Sooners week 1 loss to BYU. The consensus among draft insiders was that Gresham was the most talented tight end available, but his ability to recover from his injury and make the transition to the NFL game quickly will be something to watch.

On defense, Cincinnati shouldn’t miss a beat either. I won’t go through a full rundown but some of the talent on the Bengals defense includes Jonathon Joseph, Leon Hall, Rey Maluaga, Keith Rivers, Antwan Odom, and Domata Peko. Not to mention the mastermind behind the resurgent Bengals defense, defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer.

The non-divisional aspect of the schedule is daunting, the Ravens have improved, and Pittsburgh is still Pittsburgh. I believe though that this is the most talented Bengals team that has been assembled under Head Coach Marvin Lewis. There is definitely a lot of reason to get excited about the Orange and Black this coming season.

With all of those wide receivers, Palmer has no excuse for a failure of a season. Yes, T.O. and Ochocinco are old, but still young enough to make plays.

Even if you consider him "post prime" T.O. still has a lot to offer this team. I think it's exciting and can't wait for the football season to begin.

Yeah i understand that.

I don't know maybe it is wishful thinking but I just think that at this point in T.O. career he is going to be strictly about the team and not a bad distraction.

we will see how it plays out though

I dont like the move personally...... T.O's in his 15th season, coming off a healthy 800-yard year... Carson Palmer is 10times better than any Bills QB but i just dont understand the move. OchoCinco needs a blossoming young WR along side him, not 2 post-prime veterans who will be bad influences

I hope im wrong, and obviously as a Cinci fan you do too haha...... but im not feeling this at all for the Bengals
