New Cincinnati coach Butch Jones and his staff have added a new recruit to their roster, Kenbrell Thompkins.
Thompkins, who is a Junior College transfer had previously signed a letter of intent to play at Tennessee in December. Never attending classes in Knoxville, Thompkins backed out of his word when former Vols coach and current USC coach Lane Kiffin left Rocky Top.
Kenbrell, who officially became a Bearcat Wednesday is known as the number one Junior College wide receiver recruit and considered top division one programs such as, Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, Florida, Oregon, California, UCLA among others.
The 6-3, 190 pound prospect who has 4.4 speed adds depth to an already stellar wide receiver core in Cincinnati.
Since Thompkins graduated from Junior College in California in December he will be able to attend classes and enroll a UC immediately.
Thompkins will be eligble to play in the upcoming 2010 season and should compliment star quarter back Zach Collaros well in his Junior year.
