Jimmie Johnson has done it. Yesterday at Homestead-Miami Speedway he won his fourth consecutive NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title, becoming the first driver to complete that feat in NASCAR history.

He cements his place in NASCAR history and now has to be considered one of the greatest drivers ever.

The scary thing is that this was only Johnson's 8th season in the Sprint Cup Series and the best might still be ahead of him. If that is true the competition should be cringing.

More history was made yesterday as the 2009 season came to an end and Johnson was a part of that too.

Johnson, along with Hendrick Motorsports teammates Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon, finished first, second, and third respectively in the points standings, making them the first teammeates ever to complete that feat.

Hendrick Motorsports is at the height of the sport right now, but things can change from year-to-year.

The 2010 season gets underway in February at Daytona and once the green flag is waved on that season a couple of questions will need to be answered.

Can Hendrick Motorsports stay the most dominant team in the Sprint Cup Series, and more importantly can Jimmie Johnson make it five in a row?
